IN 1860, A SHIP CALLED THE TRURO EMBARKED ON AN EPIC VOYAGE FROM THE SOUTH OF INDIA HEADED FOR THE WESTERN SHORES OF SOUTH AFRICA.
The enthusiastic group of South Asians on The Truro arrived on the unfamiliar territory of South Africa and a vibrant and enduring community was born.
Our restaurants are a living tribute to the cultural richness of those early pioneers and their legacy.
OUR FOOD
Our food is made with pride to exacting standards. The menu is tightly focussed. Sauces are prepared from scratch in our kitchens by skilled chefs. Dishes cooked to order.
Ingredients are the best that can be found locally. Meat is halal and many of our spices are imported from the African continent. Combined, these elements deliver authentic flavours that stay true to original recipes.
